Spicy Rice Pilaf

1 Tbsp. vegetable oil
¼ tsp. The Spice Hunter Whole Turkish Cumin Seeds
½ tsp. The Spice Hunter 100% Organic Minced Onion
¼ tsp. The Spice Hunter Ground Ginger
2 tsp. The Spice Hunter Whole Penang Cloves
1 cup uncooked jasmine rice
1¾ cups water
salt to taste

Heat oil in 4-quart heavy saucepan over medium high heat. Add cumin, onion, ginger, and cloves, stirring until light brown. Do not allow the spices to burn. Add the rice and fry for about one minute, stirring constantly. Add water and salt and bring to a boil. Reduce heat to low, cover saucepan tightly, and let sit about 15 minutes. Stir and serve.
